New Student Loan Forgiveness January 2024. Thanks to this administration’s efforts more than one out of every 10 federal student loan borrowers has now been approved for some debt relief. Fixing the public service loan forgiveness program so that borrowers who go into public service get the debt relief they’re entitled to under the law;

Borrowers with initial balances of $21,000 or less could receive student loan forgiveness after somewhere between 10 and 20 years of repayment, depending on their exact starting balance. Public hearings to determine who, exactly, should qualify for this relief wrapped up in december, but the details haven’t been finalized.
